Friday 24th November 2022 - "Warren Earl Western Swing Band"
A real treat, and ‘something completely different’, for our final gig of the year, with the first appearance at the Club of the fantastic ‘Warren Earl Western Swing Band’, with its smorgasboard of American roots sounds, ranging through Western Swing, Rockabilly, Jazz, and Rhythm & Blues.
Warren Earl has teamed up with guitar wizard Diego Zaragoza to bring you a feast of class guitar licks, twin guitar harmonies and take off guitar solos. Rod Coe on upright bass, Pete Wilkins on Drums, Sam Sanders on guitar, and Mat Lydon on fiddle complete the line-up, as they bring us the sounds that knocked them dead at music concerts that included Falls, Mullumbimby Music Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Garterbelts and Gasoline, Cooly Rocks On, ‘Out On The Weekend’ Festival, Brisbane Gangster Ball, and Blues On Broadbeach.
If you want to hear a recreation of those now lost sounds that held America entranced during that magic era from the 1920s to the late 1950s – think Bob Wills and Blind Boy Fuller - then don’t miss this one!
