Friday 29th November 2024 - "Galapagos Duck"
Galapagos Duck began in the late 60’s while the members were engaged in a winter season at the New South Wales skiing resort ‘The Kosciusko Chalet” Charlotte’s Pass. After returning to Sydney the band continued to perform and became well known in the Australian Jazz and music scene during the 70’s when it was the house band at the Jazz night club “The Basement” in Sydney.
Since then, they have become one of the best known jazz bands in Australia.
They have continued to work in concert halls, night clubs, at jazz festivals, in the recording studio and on radio and television.
They have played internationally at Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Jazz Yatra festival, Bombay in Mumbai, the USA, Manilla Jazz in the Phillipines, Singapore international, Queenstown in New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island, Vanuatu jazz and more, including England, Germany, France, China and the list goes on.
The Ducks are John Conley double bass, Rodney Ford drums & vocals, Adam Thomas sax, Malcolm Wood trumpet & David Spicer on keyboard & vocals.
This is a show not to be missed by a truly internationally successful band.
